The Pros and Cons of Different Types of Hobby Rc Cars
The hobby of collecting and racing Rc Cars involves more than just buying pre-selected RC pieces and assembling them by instruction. There is so much more to hobby RC cars than that. The very first types of hobby RC cars are the electric RC cars. They are generally much lighter compared to the other types which will be described later. The best thing about electric RC cars is their maneuverability. They respond very well to controls, making them very easy to race through complex and hard terrains. Aside from that, they make use of a cleaner power and thus, engine maintenance can be kept to a minimum.
The only disadvantage to electric powered hobby RC cars is the battery charging time. Charging RC battery packs will take a whole lot of time. So RC car owners have the option of buying extra battery packs for replacement or they can just wait until the battery is in full power again. Aside from that, electric RC cars do not have the same speed capabilities as with the other type of RC cars available in the market.
Nitro RC Cars
The next kind of hobby RC cars is the Nitro Rc race cars. These types are powered by Nitromethane and lubricants. They can run at exceptional speeds and for longer periods of time. They are considered to be the fastest running types of RC cars. The downside to these fast RC cars is that the combustion products make them unsuitable for racing in indoor settings. They are also very noisy to run. And as a result, you might need to invest more time and effort in cleaning and maintaining the engine to keep it in tip top shape. And last but not least, the fuel price can be a bit expensive as well.
Off Road RC Cars
The last type of hobby RC cars are the off road RC cars. These types are used for outdoor and rough terrains. These fast RC cars have specialized wheels that provide a stable grip on the road, allowing the car to run at high speeds in spite of rough terrains. They are the types that are usually used in obstacle racing.
So make sure that you use the right RC car type for the kind of racing terrain you want to run your RC in. Using the correct Rc Model will help you keep your piece in top shape and give you the best odds in winning the race.
