Hey Sanjoo, great post yet again. The topic of souicrng food properly, safely and sustainbly.A similar scare in China, involving contamination of vegetables and fruit, has prompted many families (fairly well off families) to devote some time and effort towards growing their own food in shared plots of land, where they know exactly what goes into it. This may seem far-fetched, yet I see this as an emerging pattern of the future that many of us might have to resort to.No longer are farms tended to purely by individuals, corporations often have their say and weigh in on the quick results they desire.Maybe with the rich Nordic fishing tradition, Finnair could introduce and promote further utilisation of less intrusive and less ecologically damaging species of fish, into our diets and food, firstly onboard, thereby cultivating the idea and the habit in our minds, to follow thereafter. An intensive advertising campaign with less focus on the flights, the service, and more focus on the food being served and their ecological merit could be carried out for a short period, which would seem bizarre to some, but would differentiate Finnaire completely from the rest of the pack, and create and image of serious advocacy for such issues. No longer does it suffice for companies/organisations, be it Finnair, or anyone else in the airline industry or any other, to simply carry out their core service,innovate and carry out customer social responsibility initiatives every once in a while. Companies and organisations of today ought to actively engage in seeking solutions and implementing less harmful ways of taking their business and the world forward.
